The Pantheon theatre company's Beauty and the Beast will open in Glasgow on November 15th.
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, October 28, 2011 /Travel PR News/ -- A new stage version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast is set to open at the King's Theatre in Glasgow next month.
The show will run from Tuesday November 15th to Saturday November 19th, offering a delightful pre-Christmas treat for fans of the classic fairytale.
Based on the much-loved Disney animation from 1991, the production will feature classic songs from the film as well as several new tunes written especially for the stage.
Beauty and the Beast is a traditional fairytale that exists in several variations across Europe. It tells the story of a prince who is transformed into an ugly beast and the beautiful young woman, Belle, whom he imprisons in his castle.
To break the spell and be changed back into a prince, the beast must love Belle and win her love in return.
The Glasgow production has been devised by Pantheon, a theatre company based in the Scottish city that has previously staged versions of Romeo and Juliet, Footloose and High School Musical.
Show times vary and tickets can be purchased online, priced between GBP12.50 and GBP27.50.
